The Product

We have taken a great deal of time to source the very best materials for our photo canvas prints. We believe that combining these materials with highly experienced and skilled workmanship, all for a competitve price, creates a great product. Here is some more detail about these materials and information about how your canvas print is assembled.

The Wood

All our wood is cut in-house. We believe this to be the only way to have total control of sizes and quality. We use a high grade, kiln-dried pine with a beautiful natural texture that feels solid and heavy. It has a tapered profile to lift the print away from the frame.

For smaller frames, the wood is guillotine cut for accuracy and then mitred and underpinned.

For larger frames, we use a mitred tongue & groove joint and insert corner wedges to create and maintain a taut stretch.

The Canvas

We have sourced a Premium Bright White, 100% cotton Matt canvas. It is water resistant and seedless and quite simply the best quality artist grade canvas available.

The Printers

The Canon imagePROGRAF is a market leader in exceptional quality large format printers, with Canon’s industry-first dual-head 12-colour LUCIA II pigment ink system. The 2 high density print heads each have 30,720 nozzles and produce consistently accurate, high definition prints with an incredibly wide colour spectrum.

Workmanship

We will contact you if your image requires any alteration. We can crop, change to black & white or sepia, remove small unwanted blemishes, enhance colours, adjust the brightness or remove red-eye glare. This is all free of charge. Once the image is exactly how you want it, we'll assemble the frame and print the canvas. The canvas will then be left to dry for 4-6 hours.

 Once dry, we will stretch the canvas over the stretcher bars, using stretcher pliers, creating perfect tension and securing with staples. We then apply picture framing tape and hanging hooks (when required) and finish with a post-print canvas varnish to protect, preserve and enhance your canvas art.

Finally, we put covers over the corners, package in bubble wrap and send it out to you.
